CASE STUDY

THE LOWER WENSLEYDALE BUSINESS NETWORK

OVERVIEW

We became the network’s PR and marketing team and provided a mix of media relations, social media support, editorial content and marketing materials. They were keen to rekindle interaction among their members and reassert their business’ messages after a period of low attendance, sporadic events and apathy among members.

WHAT WE DID

We created and implemented a 12-month PR and marketing strategy to increase engagement among the membership and local businesses. Through ongoing social media activity engagement increased and the Facebook group created a focal point for members and non-members which spilled into offline activity.

OUTCOME

We created an interview series for the blog to showcase local businesses. Through this and our local PR activity, we increased awareness of the network beyond the immediate catchment area. Through our work, membership requests increased and attendance to the reinstated events has become consistent.

IN THEIR WORDS

“In the comparatively short time we have worked with Sharon, she has understood our objectives sufficiently to allow her to publish a handout focused on the work we are doing to retain our young people in the area and established a Facebook group with content to keep our members informed and involved.

In addition, she has successfully completed eight face to face interviews to create ‘A Conversation With’ local business and community leaders, all of which have been published on our website and Facebook. Sharon also helped develop our Job Shop for young people linked to the Wensleydale School Careers Hub.

Sharon also secured local coverage about our activities including our meetings and the work we are doing with local students. She also successfully managed our social media across three channels for 12 months.

I hope that we will work with Sharon again in the future and I would have no hesitation in recommending her to any established, developing or new business.”
